Our Board Of Directors

 Dakota Barlow is the founder and captain of Bayou Brutes and brings a deep background in combat sports and coaching to the organization. A former infantry Marine, he has spent years developing his skills across a wide range of disciplines, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Highland Games, judo, and wrestling. He has also served as a certified personal trainer and wrestling referee.

With extensive experience as both a competitor and a coach, Dakota leads combat sports instruction and team development for the Bayou Brutes. His commitment to high standards, disciplined training, and athlete growth has shaped the organization from its founding. 

He is dedicated to creating an environment where members have access to the tools, training, and support needed to thrive both on and off the field.

 Scott R. serves as Co-Captain and Board Member of the Bayou Brutes, providing steady leadership grounded in military experience and hands-on team support.

Rather than focusing on instruction alone, Scott’s role centers on readiness, safety, and access. He plays an active part in maintaining training standards, supporting teammates, and ensuring the team functions smoothly during practices and events.

Scott has made significant personal investments of time and resources to support the Bayou Brutes, including supplying and maintaining multiple loaner armor kits. His contributions have reduced barriers to entry for new fighters and helped ensure athletes can train and compete with appropriate equipment.

As a Board Member, Scott brings a practical, solutions-oriented perspective to organizational decisions, helping guide the Bayou Brutes’ growth as a sustainable nonprofit organization.

 James A. serves as Co-Captain and Board Member of the Bayou Brutes, providing consistent support, dependability, and leadership through action.

Whether competing or not, James is a steady presence at practices and events, contributing wherever he is needed, including setup, logistics, and assisting teammates and leadership. His reliability ensures continuity and helps keep team operations running smoothly.

As a co-captain, James supports team standards and culture by showing up, following through, and leading by example. In his role on the Board, he brings a grounded, practical perspective focused on stability, accountability, and the long-term health of the organization.

James’s commitment reflects the core values of the Bayou Brutes: teamwork, responsibility, and showing up for one another.

 Alexandria Barlow serves as Team Manager and a founding board member where she oversees organizational operations, governance, and long-term strategic development.

She serves as the Regional Female Representative for the Gulf Coast and west North Florida region, as well as a Female Representative within Florida Armored Combat (FAC), where she advocates for equitable representation, clear communication, and accessible opportunities for women in armored combat.

Her work focuses on athlete welfare, clear codes of conduct, organizational accountability, and sustainable growth of the sport across the Southeast. As a board member, Alexandria helps guide the mission of Pensacola Bayou Brutes Inc. and supports responsible stewardship of nonprofit resources.
